Unlike my friend Colin, who has crossed the United States 14 times now, I have never ventured past Utah in my single engine aircraft. I have racked up a mere 500 hours, training, scooting around the LA basin, a few vacations, and loads of Angel Flights. I was comfortable watching Colin accomplish flights, reading his blog and seeing his photos from my desk chair until recently. It's time to fly, to really use the plane for what it was built for. I am actually the one in the way of my plane being happier.
This summer I will take an extraordinary trip east and I hope you'll check in with me along my route of flight.
You can follow my travels by clicking on the interactive map in the FLIGHTS section. There you'll see my flight path, the places I'm visiting (complete with photos and notes!), including my favorite stops along the way.
